OUR INSPIRATION
Named in honour of Vijayam
Vijayam Foundation is named after my mother, Vijayam — someone who never stopped being curious about the world. She believed in learning, not just when it was easy or expected, but throughout life.
Even later in her years, she pursued a master’s degree and graduated, quietly proving that growth doesn’t have an age limit. She raised two children, put us through higher education, and showed us through her actions that if you want something, you work for it.
More than anything, she had a way of leaning into the unknown — whether it was understanding complex social issues or exploring new technology, she wanted to learn, to ask questions, to truly understand.
“Because staying connected, learning something new, and feeling capable shouldn’t disappear with age.”
I miss her deeply. This foundation is my way of holding on to that part of her — the curiosity, the persistence, and the belief that nothing is beyond reach if you’re willing to try.
